After a 33-year career in commercial banking with BB&T, Pegi Brady retired from banking in 2017 and joined the Self-Help Ventures Fund in Durham, NC, as an SBA 504 Loan Officer. She retired from Self-Help at the end of 2022 and began taking pottery classes at the Durham Arts Council.

Pegi also takes yoga classes, plays the guitar, and volunteers at the Emanuel Food Pantry in Durham. She is married and has a 30-year-old daughter who works and lives in Washington, DC.

Pegi has served on several non-profit boards over the past 35 years, including the Duke School board as a member of the finance committee and as treasurer, the Galloway Ridge board as a member of the finance committee and as treasurer, the Compass Center board as a member of the finance committee, and recently, the Emerson Waldorf School board as a member of the finance committee.
