Hi, I’m Tatem! I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, where I got my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. I went to The Ohio State University (O-H!) where I got my Master’s in Education and became a 5th-grade teacher. I moved to Dallas, Texas, with my husband for 3 years, where I taught 4th and 5th grade. My favorite subjects to teach are math and science!

I recently moved to the Durham area and am so excited to be back on the East Coast. I’m taking a break from the classroom, spending time tutoring and getting to know my new community.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and pets, and watching a good TV series. I’m passionate about education, leadership, and building confidence in young women, and I am excited to be involved with the StrongHER TogetHER team.
